Psalm 73:26

Archive for April 2007

Home again, home again, jiggity-jig!

We had a good trip to CA but it's nice to be home again. As my mother-in-law always quotes her mother-in-law, "It's great all over, but there's no place like home!" I agree. Something about the familiarity of your own house, your own bed, your own shower... Of course I have lots of pics to share and of course I'm way behind already! Here are a few from me goofing off in the airports while waiting for our flights:

Thanks for looking!

Ginny Owens

Ginny Owens is as sweet as she seems! We were blessed to have her in concert at our church last night and it was so much fun! If you haven't heard of her, or her work, you need to check it out! Her lyrics are so powerful and humble... definitely gifted by God!
Here is a pic of my lovely niece who let me play with my new lens (although she kept getting closer and closer to the camera, she's not so camera shy- hence the extreme closeup!):
And a pic of two of my crazy youth girls:

Father and Son

Just a cute pic from last night of Daddy and J reading a bedtime story...

And to explain to those who haven't seen a double crown, the back of my little prince (something he inherited from Daddy!):

Duck Head

Funny little guy loves ducks! Ever since he was a wee little wiggle-worm rolling across the floor... These two ducks are actually from his first Easter! We played around with taking pics of him one day and here are a few of the many many we took!

Oh and just in case you don't know about Jeremiah's hair issue - he has a double crown that grows in two opposite spinning circles on top of his head. A wonderful characteristic he inherited from Daddy. It's almost impossible to comb his hair some days because of this so I decided that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! So if the little hairs will stand up in between the crowns, then we'll stand all the hair up in a cool faux hawk! As usual, he thinks he's hot stuff!

Chilly Easter!

Praise the Lord! He is risen! What a wonderful day celebrating the ressurection of our Lord and Savior! The program at church was successful and God blessed us all through the talents of so many. I'll post the pics from the program soon. Here are a couple from our family time after church. It was so cold but we still held an egg hunt for Jeremiah (and the two exchange students in the family!). He was decked out in his Easter clothes under his winter coat! He had a blast because he's figured it all out, eggs = candy! What a happy little popsicle he was! He spent the rest of his time enjoyng Aunt Linda's Thomas the Train set inside the warm house...

OVER 30?!

You know, turning thirty wasn't so bad... I was pretty proud that I handled it so well. But today I tack on another number to the other side of that three and now I'm OVER thirty! YIKES! Suddenly I feel so old! It didn't help that when my sister-in-law and I went shopping for Easter dresses last night, we were excited to go to "The Dress Barn" - apparently young ladies don't frequent here? LOL Well, anyway, I load up with a wide variety of dresses in the changing room and one after the other I'm asking what's wrong with the mirror? Are they making dresses to fit so odd nowadays? I had to just laugh out loud when I realized I was still expecting to see that 21 year-old skinny girl from ten years ago! Oh the days when the clothes fit like they did in the magazines... Now I'm a mom OVER thirty and my curves have gotten...um... "curvier" (nice phrase to use instead of "roll"ier!). But turning 31 really isn't so bad either. I have a wonderful little family - a hubby who loves me and an awesome little boy. I look at my life and think to myself - dreams really do come true!

Cuddle Buddies

Every morning we cannot start our day without some cuddle time! Jeremiah waits in his bed until I go to get him. He'll lay there quietly until I figure out he's awake or he'll call out "Maaaaa-maaaa!" Then he asks me to climb into the bed with him and we snuggle and cuddle until he's ready to get up for the day. You know I'm loving this! It makes me happy that he does too! I am going to soak up every moment of it, time is just too short. I set up my camera to capture this moment in time. It will not be the same years from now, I know this. I will not get to feel his warm smooth skin against my face. I will not smell his clean, soft hair. But maybe if I come across this picture I can be taken back to this moment and how awesome it feels to hug this little boy.

Lil' Monkey

You know you're a bad mom when you ask your kid what his name is and he says "Monkey!" Gee, guess I should stop calling him that? There is a reason for that lovely little nickname, though. Jeremiah is always climbing on me. He cannot seem to stand next to me but must be standing on my feet or climbing up my leg or if I'm sitting his goal seems to be to sit on my head! Then there's all his stunts - jumping on the couch, jumping OFF the couch, running into things to have an excuse to fall down... To explain away the bumps, bruises and wild behavior we bought him this shirt in hopes that others would understand what it's like to have a little boy in the house!
