Cowboys & Indians

This was Daddy's favorite when he was a little boy. Maybe it will be one of Jeremiah's?

A super great couple at church gave Jeremiah these beautiful figurines. Jeremiah LOVES them! He wanted to sleep with them all but settled for the indian in the canoe only (thank goodness!). Thanks Dwayne & Connie for the awesome gift!

Mooooo...
Everyone piled into the canoe...
Ah, the magic of a little boy's imagination...

*** Some of you asked about the image in yesterday's post. Our photography group/class shares a makeshift studio. The backdrops are from our leader, a retired photographer. He painted all his own backdrops on canvases and sheets! He was one of the top photographers in this town for many years, we are grateful to have him! He sold most of his lighting equipment not long after he retired so he decided to rig his own set for our group and found everything he needed at the local hardware store. It may not look very professional IRL but the set up works just like the pro equipment that uses the umbrellas and stuff. There is a main light source, three others (to light the backdrop and other dramatic effects, etc.), and a hair light. All are fully adjustable in distance and intensity and you can bounce the light as they each have their own reflector attached. He's a rockstar!

Miss J

This girl is so sweet and obviously gorgeous! She's one of my fave models too! I'm so lucky to have her close and willing anytime I need to get some practice in. =) Our photography group shot some images of her and two other young girls for some fun and practice tonight. HHCC is welcomed!

Just Playing Around

Ever have one of those weeks where you just feel so blah about everything you do? This week is starting out that way. Ugh. I just feel so... mediocre at best. So J and I played everything in the house today. Or maybe it just seems that way because he decided he wanted to pile up all his toys in the middle of the floor. And I mean ALL of his toys. I have been trying to capture more of him again, I have been so busy shooting everyone else lately! He played peek-a-boo with me through his blocks while I shot him. It cracks me up how serious he looks when he's playing. Poor kid is going to have to loosen up some day...

Peek-A-Boo!

On the way home from church tonight I decided to stop and play around with my camera. I haven't done anything random like that with it in a long time and missed it! I tried to get an image of the moon but didn't get anything interesting. So I turned my attention to Jeremiah hiding in a nearby bush/tree thing. It was getting pretty dark at 8 pm and we started to get attacked by mosquitos so we left quickly after this!

Have a great week!

J&D's Wedding

What a beautiful wedding! Beautiful Bride, beautiful day... We had a lot of fun shooting J&D. I know it's a bunch, but here are some from the wedding last weekend! TFL & HHCC is appreciated!

She was so beautiful!

And the Groom was quite dapper as well!

And the country boys cleaned up very nicely, wouldn't you say?

The bridesmaids were so fun!

Such a classy day - even if the country Bride went barefoot!

Faith

I cannot imagine life without my faith in God. He amazes me every day. And every time I look into my son's eyes I see what a miracle of life he is. Such a treasured blessing. I think about my two babies in heaven and am so grateful to have Jeremiah here to hold in my arms. This little guy is a constant reminder of the grace and mercy my Savior has for me. I cannot live without Him. He died for me and I will live for Him.

And here is a scene we see once a week:

My niece gets out her camera and snaps a shot of her and Brad. Is she keeping a log of how much they change week to week? I'm not sure but there are TONS of images out there of them sitting in front of this wall on Wednesday nights...

So here she is with her guy:

She leaves for college and we're all so sad. Even though she really isn't going too far away. It just won't be the same! We'll miss you Dani!!!

New Haircut!

I am still not used to this new haircut! Poor Jeremiah HATES to have his hair cut. He screams through the whole process but as soon as I say, "All done!" he perks right up and says "Thank you!" with a smile. But because of all the screaming, crying, me holding him in a headlock while the razor buzzes... I usually end up letting it grow a bit shaggy before I finally drag him in. This time I told her to leave some hair on his head but cut it close enough so we don't have to come back for a looooong time. So here he is with his buzz cut. He looks so much like Daddy's childhood pics! Of course I had to take him out to get some shots of his new look. Oh how I love this cute little guy!

New Locations...

I wanted to scout out some new locations, something different from the usual... So with the help of my two lovely models, we found some cool grungy places to shoot. They braved the mosquito attacks and put on some pouty faces to add to the mood. HHCC Appreciated!

KH Senior Shoot

Here are a few from my shoot earlier this week. HHCC Is apprecited!

Which crop do you like? Vertical: or horizontal:
Looking at the camera:
or looking away from the camera:
She's so adorable in her boots! But what do you think of the photog? Be honest!

I know I have some blowouts on her jeans and skirt. Grrr... but what other CC do you have? THANKS!

Thanks Jess!

I didn't intend to enter a contest but then what do you know? I won! Jessica Bell made some cool grungy frames and wanted to share the joy and her cutie-pie little girl drew my name! How fun is that? So I FINALLY got a moment to dig out some pics to use them on. You can find more of her borders for yourself here: http://jessicabellphotography.blogspot.com/

And here is a sneak peek of a couple of the borders on some pics of J:

This frame is great for this image, I grunged up the image a bit so a grungy frame is the perfect touch!
This pic is an oldie but I just love his little innocent look and the cool frame to showcase him!
And this next pic... LOL... isn't he cute? I just love the crocodile tear on his cheek. He was crying because he wanted to get in the pool but didn't want to get wet. So tell me how am I supposed to handle that?! Instead I took pics! Cruel? Maybe. But nothing I did or said helped and I want to remember this cute face he gives when he is so pitiful! LOL I really like this frame, it keeps your eye on the image. And I like grungy borders!!!
Thanks for looking! Check out Jess's site for more goodies!
