Slacker

Yup, that's me. I'm such a slacker about this blog lately. I know you can't seem to tell by my oh-so-frequent posts (note the sarcasm), but it really does bug me! I haven't been shooting as much as I'd like but I have been shooting and have lots to share... I just have other things going on that don't allow me to have a moment of selfish fun to post in my blog. And if no one missed me then I'll have less reason to feel the pull back to my blog so you miss it, right?! *puppy-dog eyes* Don't fret, I haven't abandonded ship completely. Life appears to be slowing down to just the fast lane so maybe I'll have something new soon. Actually, now that I'm typing this I'm really motivated to post something. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow!

Oh, and all your lurkers... post a comment and say "HI" so others know you exist! haha

Fun Friends

I wanted to get out and shoot! I was bummed about not getting to shoot much on my vacation so I called up one of my fave models and asked her to bring a friend. They wanted some fun "skateboarding" type shots so I was excited! These are fun and different from the traditional that most people have been asking me for lately. We had a blast and these two are goofy! It cracks me up how much they look like they are related! But they are not and they are just fun friends! Thanks you two for a fun little shoot!

This one makes me laugh every time I look at it! I played around with my wide angle a bit to try to get some distortion (didn't really but a tiny bit):

With all the talk about sun flares lately, I thought this was funny - it's motorcycle light flare! I raised my ISO super high but still had to add some noise for a grungy feel:

There were TONS more from that night, maybe I'll post more. Maybe not. Sometimes I get distracted! LOL Thanks for looking!

Finally! Some Fun Time!

I suppose J just had some 24 hour bug because by the next evening he was ready to bounce off the walls again! So we ventured out on Thursday to the Children's Museum and he had a blast! Here are just a few snapshots from our little outing...

Feeling Puny

Poor little J has only wanted to lie around today. He really likes staying in hotels so he's fairly happy to be here. I just wish he felt well enough to go to the museum because I know he'd love it! But in the meantime we'll catch up on some snuggle time and PBS kids!

Geese Crossing

John was in his meeting and so J & I spent a lot of the day shopping and then he napped a long time so I was still itching to shoot! I got him out and we drove around and found some geese crossing the road and got out to get a closer look (and take some pics!). I'm not sure about the coloring, I'm working from my laptop at the hotel!

Bye-Bye Geese... this one cracked me up when I pulled it up on the computer, they are following the painted arrow!

Sorry I don't have anything more interesting to post this time! J ended up getting really sick (still is) so we may be hotel hobos for a while... Pray for my little guy.

Mini-Vacation!

We're so excited to be here in Indianapolis! DH had a conference so we decided to make a week out of it. We're just excited to be out of the house! LOL I can't wait to get out and take some pictures of my own family for a change. It's been fun taking pics of everyone else but I need more of my own crew too! Didn't take many yesterday but here are a few random things...

**This week's POTD theme is Photoshop before and after (time to share secrets!) I didn't really do much to these, adjusted color and sahrpened for web in RAW. Then I ran a color burn vignette layer to evenly burn the edges to make them pop a bit more. Nothing drastic! But you can see the befores and afters:

I was itching to get out of the car to shoot and the first thing I saw was this flower pot
(LOL), I liked the lighting on it...

Jeremiah loves to stay in hotels! LOL Cracks us up. Here he is with no nap after being in the car all day. Great height, huh?

And then we spent the rest of the evening at Chuck E Cheese's where even DH can be a kid! J was timid about going up into the tunnels and the bunch of kids barrelling past him didn't help his comfort level but eventually he got up there and crawled around. Then we couldn't get him down!

Behind the scenes...

It's so hard to find good help these days! My "assistant" apparently got a little bored so she dug out my little Sony Cybershot and fired away during my senior shoot. But she wasn't shooting the senior - she was shooting me! It got my senior tickled and then they ganged up on me! But we had a great time that night. So here I am in action and a couple of the shots I was shooting at the time (and for those who are still wondering, you get a little peek at our makeshift studio and set up!):
