Haven of Rest

I'm sure you are all sick of me with these! Here are the last three with just barely an hour to spare (CST!).
#14 Celebrate
We used the song "Joy" from Selah's Christmas CD in our Church Christmas Program this past season. Since I wrote & directed it, Jeremiah heard this song A LOT! So he'd let me turn off Elmo to work on some things, I made it fun and we'd dance around the room to this upbeat celebration song. A couple days ago, he was in the living room by himself and he busted out singing this song. I peeked in to find him jumping and dancing around the room singing at the top of his lungs. Well, in his own way. All you could understand was the bursts of "joy" here and there... but he said it on the correct timing! He asked for the song again today so I turned it on and got out my new camera. This picture cracked me up because he looks like he's flying! He was jumping everywhere! It was so fun to watch him celebrate!
#19 Just For Fun
Bring your camera around two teenage girls and what happens? "Take my picture!" So I aimed their way and they gave me this.
#20 Fashion
My ten year high school reunion has come and gone but holes in your jeans are here to stay forever I suppose! More of my youth group modeling their fashion for me. I obviously played around with it and am not so happy with the way it turned out but it's "rough" looking to match their jeans! LOL
THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!

Long gone are the days when I could carry around a little purse only big enough for my keys and a tube of lip gloss... now my purse is filled with all kinds of goodies to keep a toddler busy on not-so-thrilling shopping excursions!
The white is a bit too bright on the lollipop wrapper - grrr... CC appreciated as usual!
I'm half Korean. I eat kimchee. I eat sushi. Okay so I just love to eat! I thought kimchee would be appropriate for this part of me and I threw in the California Rolls & Spinach to round out a yummy lunch!
#21 Local
Okay, I joined another challenge. These challenges get me thinking more about taking pictures and in turn gives me more practice, we hope anyway! This week (#9) the theme is "Objects that tell something about you" so of course my first choice for an object would be my Bible! It worn and very read... My spiritual side is an important part of my life - it's THE most important! What would my life be without God and all He does for me. I'm so thankful for His Son and His sacrifice for me. I need my Bible & prayer to keep in touch and to keep moving forward.

If you've seen me first thing in the morning you may agree, it's not pretty! Some days I feel like I look and when I stumble into the bathroom to get ready for the day I cringe at myself and wonder what John sees in me. What does he see in me that gets him to overlook the scary woman staring back at me in the mirror? All the my faults that are shamefully revealed to me each day... all my imperfections that seem to never go away... what does he see that causes him to come home to me after a long day at work? I'm not sure. Maybe I'll never know. But until then it's comforting to know I have someone to brush my teeth with for the rest of my life.
# 17 Love
I really did try to think of something else that really made me happy. But I just kept coming back to my son. I adore this little boy. I love the long eyelashes, so delicate and sweet. I love the shape of his eyes and tiny button nose. I love the smile he wears that greets me every morning. He brings me sunshine on a cloudy day and joy in the midst of crazy times. Although he can drive me nuts with his occassional nails-on-a-chalkboard-screeching whine, he can make my heart melt with just a glimpse of his calming blue eyes.

Jeremiah learned a song from one of his kiddie CD's called "Grandpa's Farm" a few months ago. He loved to sing this song and one day while we were sitting in his bed naming the stuffed animals, I sang this song but changed the words to "Jeremiah's Farm." He loved it and made me sing it over and over for days on end. Then he sang it and changed the words to "Jeremiah's Barn." He would drag these animals around to every
room (with help from Mommy & Daddy - there were 12 all together!).
He also had to have ALL of them around him wherever he was going to sleep, all around his pillow. Now they are all lined up on his headboard, waiting for him to be interested in playing with them again. There are many parts of his childhood I'd love to capture and this is one of them.

Jeremiah is so silly! I got out my camera today to distract him while he was sitting on my desk. He posed for me but they were strange poses! The little wiggly-worm didn't sit still for a moment so it was hard to get a clear shot of anything. That, and he was in my face! Here are the results of us goofing off today:
We spent the past couple days destroying our master bedroom and transforming into a haven of rest! We tore down wallpaper (not putting any up again - ever!), tore out the old carpet and painted it a soothing, calm "Secret Garden" Green.

There in the paint was the impression of " j " ! I guess it was fitting since we are such a J-filled family!
I am using this for "New Beginnings" because we haven't really tried color on our walls much and we did all the work ourselves and it's a start (finally) to a nice room to call our own where we didn't have to "make do" with and work around other odd elements left from previous residents!
#11 New Beginnings
Okay, so it still wasn't much but it was at least an inch or two! These pics were taken yesterday. John went out to shovel the drive and after getting all bundles up in several layers, Jeremiah & I went to play! Jeremiah still loved the scooting around the deck but also loved that it was all over the yard. He slipped and slid everywhere. He had a blast! He was so funny in that he wanted us to hit him with snowballs but he didn't want to throw any at us. He kept asking for more, even when it went down his shirt. Brrrr! Daddy made a little snowman and mommy helped decorate the face. Jeremiah thought it was funny but didn't want to come too close! He helped Daddy "shovel" with the windshield scraper all the snow from the deck and around the yard (no where near the driveway!). Soon his little hands got cold and he stuffed them in his pockets so he could still play outside. He cried when we drug him into the house to warm up. I am glad he loves to play outside, even if it is freezing!
This is my camera. I bought this at the end of last summer and it says I have taken 4754 shots these past 6 months. It has a scratch on the front and some of the silver paint peeled off one of the buttons on the back ("Review"). It has been through a lot with me! It has been many places and seen many things... I really love this camera!

#15 Money
Have I mentioned that I love this kid? He is my sweet little Valentine! I could not get him to sit still with Daddy to take a pic so I handed the camera over to Daddy and calmed the little guy down with some cuddles! Daddy got a shot! Go Daddy! Jeremiah is so sweet. He is always so thoughtful looking... makes me wonder what is on his mind. Is he pondering the mysteries of the Universe?
Jeremiah was so cute playing Hide & Seek. He would cover his eyes while he counted to ten (although he peeked!) then he'd shout, "Here I Come!" When he found Daddy, he'd yell, "Super Surprise!" Then they would both run down the hall and slide on the kitchen floor until they fell down on their bottoms. We have a good laugh then he'd tell Daddy which room to hide in next! It was so cute to see him strike a pose in the hall as if he was stalking someone! I also loved how after I got the camera out, he would stop and pose saying "Where'd he go?" before he crouched down to stalk some more! This kid cracks us up!
