Random Captures...

I haven't taken many pics for fun lately, been too busy with others and I'm just plain worn out from May! I'm puffing up all over and the swollen hands/feet/limbs/face are really not helping!

Here's a mommy brag... Jeremiah is very into pirate stuff right now and he picked out a pirate ship with his B-day money. I found this later that night:

Here is his inspiration:

Jeremiah was tuckered from a long day and he snuggled up to mommy and his baby brother while he fought back sleep by watching Discovery Kids. (Please overlook my preggy quadruple chin! UGH!) He was OUT just moments after daddy captured this shot!:

And just for fun... PEEK-A-BOO!!!

Have a blessed Sunday!!

Sam & Brian Engagement

I haven't been blogging much lately, I know, I know... I've been swamped with last minute shoots and weddings! So much for slowing down! But I'm considering myself on maternity leave now - yay! I do have one last wedding to edit but it was a small one and won't be much trouble.

So for now I'll post some stuff I've been up to lately. Here is a super fun couple that wanted engagement pics quickly as their wedding was just a couple weeks later! They were SO much fun and did whatever I told them to do! I don't usually give out more than 20-30ish pics but this was a buddy and there were so many I liked I just kept proofing them and ended up with like 140 images. So she had some picking out to do. LOL

Here are just a few random ones from that evening. Thanks Sam & Brian for all the fun!

Happiness is...

...mastering something new! Ok, so I may not have it mastered but I'm getting there! I love to learn something new. Sometimes to the point where I drive myself (and others) crazy until I figure it out. So I'm really pushing myself to learn to shoot in the worst of lighting conditions. Like a backlit situation where the sun is blaring behind or above... how do you avoid those nasty shadows? Shade would be the first answer but what if there is no shade? I got used to fill flash, but wanted to try it without flash...

Today my girl, Katie, let me practice on her. With the sun beating down on her back, we tried a few shots around the yard and I think I'm getting the hang of it...
And Katie took a couple pics of my growing belly. Joshua is head down like a good boy. Now we just need him to hang on a little while longer so we can get things ready!
Me at about 8 months!
Thanks for visiting! Have a great weekend!

Way Too Many B-day Pics!

I can't believe Little Man is 4 years old!!! WOW! Time sure does fly. Seems like just yesterday we brought him home from the hospital all snug in our arms. Now the little wiggle worm is too busy to stay cuddled for long!

I was in a hurry to grab some pics to post so here is the random assortment from his B-day party last friday:

My niece decorating the cake like she does each year... A little Cousin lovin'...
The theme was Curious George. Didn't she do a fab job on the cake? Dani, you rock!
Jeremiah had a hard time getting the candles blown out and some kept re-lighting even though they were not trick candles! He would blow and try to fan them (it was more like a wave!)...

He loved the cake and was so happy the candles finally went out. Did you notice the monkey on his shirt and what it says?
He decided he was big enough to cut the cake himself...
We thought it was interesting that his first B-day he didn't want the icing, only the cake. But this year he didn't want the cake - only the icing!
Presents! Several Curious George things like this clock with "Jeremiah's Room" printed on it...
He was even excited about getting clothes...

But the fun didn't end when the party did... He had a blast playing with all the balloons!!
Happiness is...
Another fave toy he got was Kid K'Nex. They are perfect for him to build with. Here he reminds me of his Uncle David as he studies the paper to figure out how to build one of the examples...
Showing off the snail he made...
It was a fun day! We felt like we celebrated for a week! Today was his actual B-day so we went to eat, let him spend his Birthday money and just spent the day together!

Amazing Young Ladies...

I recently had the priviledge of shooting some amazing young women. These girls are from Heritage Christian School - the 8th Grade Graduating class of 2008!

Let me tell you, they are so awesome! They have incredible integrity and are just the sweetest bunch of friends. I was so inspired by these young girls, I hated to give them the prints because then I wouldn't have an excuse to keep talking to them or their parents! If this is a sample of what kind of student the school produces, I think everyone should send their kids here.

I couldn't put them all on here so I randomly picked out a few to post. I seriously fell in love with each one of them!!!!

Thanks again, ladies, for being so amazing and sincere. You totally rock!

Praise the Lord for Mr Clean Erasers...

We have this sweet little boy who from day one always understood what "No" meant. He wasn't your normal kid, he never had the unquenchable urge to touch everything and dig in all the cabinets and drawers... he was just "weird" like that. Since he turned a year old and held his first crayon he loved to draw and was very content to draw on the reems of paper we supplied and the notebooks we drug to church. Once, he drew on the wall with crayon but after being told "No-No!" he never thought much about trying that again.

Such a sweet obedient child...

Then one day he turned about 3 and a half and something happened. He suddenly decided it was long past time to try out the "terrible twos" and he had some making up to do! He touched everything and ignored the No's that his mother repeated until she was blue in the face. He began to ignore other commands that never had to be spoken aloud, it was just understood.

Then tonight, mommy was in the office, Daddy was in the kitchen and Jeremiah was doing his most recent nightly ritual of piling up toys on his floor, "decorating" and "building trees" and laughing at Curious George antics playing on his mini DVD player.

Apparently Curious Jeremiah kicked in.

Little did I know he had stolen a Sharpie Marker from my desk earlier. At some point, he took his shirt off and decided to wear his art! He came running to show me and I *knew* something else had to be up so I peeked in his room and sure enough it was EVERYWHERE. No toy was left unmarked. I'll give him this, he's thorough!

Luckily, Mr. Clean Erasers work wonders for walls and doors and DVD players as well as an assortment of plastic toys and totes. The plush toys? Well, I've yet to figure out how to salvage them.

Here is J in time out waiting for Daddy to return from the store with the blessed Mr. Clean Erasers...

Look at the pouty lip as he sniffles through his "Sorry's"....
More apologies... (Is this his first mugshot? I hope it's the last!!!)
Confessing his "sins" as he explains why he is in time out...
Realizing we meant it when we were going to throw out all the markers and some of the ruined toys...

He even wrote all the way across his back! How? I have no idea how that was possible. Maybe his partner-in-crime (his imaginary buddy), Curious George, helped him out?

I'm sure I'll laugh about this one day. Until then, you can laugh at our expense!

Parking Lot Pics

I was clearing out memory cards and files and ran across these pics I took one day in a parking lot while waiting for Daddy to come out of the store.

Jeremiah cracks me up squatting down with his sunglasses, trying to look so cool! He looks like he's on a mission here... Go Bionic Boy!
And some flowers from the tree he was sitting under...
Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful day!

Dinosaurs!

We stopped in Factory Card & Party Outlet yesterday to pick up some party supplies for J's 4th B-day coming up (Curious George!). Oh, all the things to tempt a little boy to touch! J was in heaven with all the colors and toys and trinkets!

As we were picking out some plates and things, he found these neat little cards (about the size of a credit card) that had dinosaur parts on them. He begged Daddy (who always gives in!) and we walked out with lots of George goodies and these cards.

You pop out the tiny pieces and put them together to make little dinosaurs. Here is Daddy trying to adjust the teeny tiny fins... They are so cute!
J waited patiently for each one to be put together...
Then he growled and roared as the dinos interacted...

Such fun! Here is a link if you are interested in some of these cards: Dino Cards

Mmmmmm....

So, I'm on a roll and need to keep posting everyday! It just hit me and I have been doing a lot of paperwork today and updating things on my desk, on my computer and online... I didn't shoot anything except some textures to talk about in our photo group tonight. So I'll post some thing I shot a few days ago. Random is okay, right?

I am not sure why I shot these except that they looked so very yummy! Dark chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and cute, colorful sprinkles! I shot this Sunday morining before church and by the time I arrived to my class, the icing had melted on most of them! Kind of strange as it wasn't THAT warm yet. Oh well, I'll be happy that spring is finally here and I can break out the flip flops without frosting my tootsies!

"I Have Enough Pictures"

Here comes Mommy... click click click...

"No more pictures, please, mommy. I have enough pictures. Put the camera back on your desk, please!"

Well, at least he said please, right? So after three he hopped up on the toy box to peek out the window and play peek-a-boo with me...
Since I couldn't get pics of him, I took a pic of what he was working on...
I always go through all of his work before tossing anything so I can keep the gems. This one I had to keep becuase it cracked me up. It's a drawing of telescopes ("tewescopes") and some constelations (?). Then he always draws the pieces found in the drawing at the bottom. Kind of like his own Eye Spy pictures. You have to find the shapes hidden in his drawing. Can you find them?

And an update on my growing belly. Seven months and counting down!
