More Snapshots Of Our Life...

Random snapshots here, I thought we might just go around the block and we really only had about 20 minutes of light out. It was getting dark quickly hence the flashed images and slow shutter speed blur (ooh, can I be on theme?). BUT, our fun family time is captured and I'm happy with that!

We took the boys for a walk to the park again, but this time, I left the sling at home and remembered my camera! We packed up the boys in the wagon and headed out.
Wagon Ride

Jeremiah had so much fun telling Joshua about everything the whole way. He even sang a few songs to him!
Wagon Ride

Joshua actually had a blast and smiled and cooed alot but the only decent ones I got of him he looks really bored! lol
Wagon Ride

When we got there, Jeremiah had fun playing on all the stuff:
Park Fun

But he kept an eye out for Joshua and told him all he was doing:
Park Fun

And Joshua kept an eye on Jeremiah too!
Park Fun

It was so cute that Jeremiah wanted to share this experience with Joshua and show him all the fun things to do at the park!
Park Fun

What a great Big Brother!!!

Mommy Moment: Jeremiah played in his room most of the day and I was trying to get him to go outside. I suggested a ton of ideas but he was intent on what he was doing and even refused a wagon ride. I suggested a few more things and randomly suggested he go on a wagon ride with Joshua. He immediately jumped up to get his shoes, exclaiming "Oh! With Joshua! What a great idea, Mommy! I get my shoes, you get my hat!" And off we went. It's just so wonderful to see Jeremiah as a loving big brother. Warms mommy's heart!

Infomercials...

If you know John, you know he loves infomercials! I mean, really, if you see it on TV it must be true, right? lol

Well, apparently this is a trait dad passed down to son. Jeremiah got very excited when the Pancake Puff commercial came on. Then one day as we passed the display in Target, he got really excited about the possibility of making "Brownie Puffs!" So we thought we'd give it a whirl.

We first tried brownie puffs and they are tricky! I almost just said forget it and added this item to our the-TV-wasn't-right-this-time list. Then one day Jeremiah asked for pancake puffs. So we made pancakes and they were so easy! And came out so light and fluffy. I was quite proud. lol
PancakePuffs

Then he decided he wanted regular-looking pancakes (go figure) so I made a few and let him choose when they were all done:
PancakePuffs

Yeah, he chose the flat ones...
Pancakes
And just so you know how more about this informercial fetish: Jeremiah was in the bathtub talking randomly one night and he suddenly says "Call now! 1-800-929-1871! Call now!" What? This kid memorizes everything! I wrote the # down to call later just to see which commercial he was reciting. Turns out it's for debt consolidation! So if you need some help, Jeremiah will be happy to recommend a place. lol

A side note... this is how Johsua puts himself back to sleep:
Thumbsucker
I laid him down for a nap and watched him fall asleep then wake about an hour later. He fused, found his thumb then was out again.

And just for fun... have you Yearbooked Yourself? So fun I had to try it. The only pic I had handy on my computer was this one:
Dork

So I used it to see what I'd look like in the 60's:
YearbookYourself

Oh man, I need some help! lol

Mommy Moment: Tonight when Jeremiah was told it was time to get into the tub, he tells Daddy: "We have to take a fast bath. I need to wash my hair, there are turtles in my hair..." he was very business like as he marched to the bathroom. Where did he get the turtles?

Comparison...

I know, you're not supposed to compare your kids... but this was kind of fun! I look at Joshua and first off, he doesn't look like Jeremiah to me. Some say he does, but I don't think so. Except when his eyes are closed (sleeping or crying!), then he kind of does. Second, I look at Joshua and think he's one little chunk! But so was Jeremiah. So I dug out Jeremiah's baby stuff to show off the side-by-side comparison!

Joshua at 2 months:
*24 1/2 inches
*40 cm Head Circ.
*13 pds 2 oz

Jeremiah at 2 months:
*24 inches
*40cn Head Circ.
*14 pds 13 oz (!!!)

Did you see how much more Jeremiah weighed at this point?! Wow! The nurse weighed Joshua today and was like "Wow, he's a BIG one!" and I when I told her how big Jeremiah was at this point, her eyes almost popped out of her head! lol Now Jeremiah is so skinny, he looks like he was probably the runt!

Here are some side-by-side images of the boys at their 2 month marks:

Joshua has more chins, Jeremiah filled his up with chub:

Maybe Joshua would have liked his bath better if he had bubbles like Jeremiah:

They both are happy about this toy:
Photobucket

Both can do this but Jeremiah definitely had a harder time with gravity and cheeks:
Photobucket

So what do you think?

Mommy Moment (almost forgot again!): Jeremiah knocked over some toys accidentally and ran "George" over the coals for it. (George = Curious George the Monkey, his imaginary friend) I told him it was not nice to talk to others that way. He looked sorrowful then told George he was sorry! Sweet little guy!

Typical...

It's not unusual to see this:
Photobucket
Me with the camera or me with Joshua in the sling!

Also here lately, it's not unusual to see Jeremiah in these Superman PJ's! And of course the hat (which is so small it leaves a ring on his head but he's not going to change!). This was quite the sight when we walked down the street to the park and J1 rode his tractor in this getup...
Photobucket
Love the socks and how he also had to take the piece of chalk! lol

When we pulled up to the playground, he was a celebrity! Every little boy wanted to check out the tractor and then play superheroes with him!

Mommy Moment (sorry I forgot this in the previous post!): I set Joshua in the bouncy seat in the living room, Daddy was fixing something with the TV and Jeremiah was helping him. I went into the other room and heard Joshua fussing and start to whimper. I then heard Jeremiah say "Don't cry baby, it's okay, there's no monsters..." So sweet. (And Joshua calmed right down!)

Two Months Old!

Wow! Already?

Joshua is getting so big! We'll get his official height and weight at his 2 month check-up on friday so stay tuned for that.

Joshua in a nutshell:
*J2 loves to sleep! He sleeps at least 8 hours every night. Whee! Plus he takes several naps throughout the day. I start to miss him since he's asleep so much!
*His favorite thing to do is stand on your lap and talk with you. He gets mad when your eyes look away but as soon as you look back, he's all smiles and coos again.
*He really loves Jeremiah. He loves to watch him run around the room and hear him talk. He always strains his neck to find him when he hears his voice.
*Joshua does not like to be alone when he's awake. In the van, Jeremiah sits in the very back so they can see each other. If Jeremiah is talking or singing Joshua is happy, but if Jeremiah happens to be quiet, Joshua cries until he gets out of the car seat. Makes for some fun trips, let me tell ya... *note sarcasm*
*Joshua is a thumbsucker, but only while sleeping. He doesn't seem to suck on it during his awake time, but always finds it when he happens to wake up and wants to keep sleeping!
*He loves for you to play with his feet and legs. Make them march or dance and he just giggles! It's so funny!

Here is the latest installment of the Tonka Truck Project. He doesn't seem as enthusiastic about this as I was. lol

Here is a link to his One Month Tonka Truck shot: Clicky!

And Jeremiah wanted to see if it was as fun as it looked. He was about as impressed as Joshua:
Photobucket
Actually, he was not happy that I couldn't push him right then. I was holding Joshua and the blanket and the camera and was trying to tell him to let me put the stuff away and get the sling for Joshua so here he sits debating if it's worth the wait. He ended up playing on the slide. lol

Happy Two Month Birthday, Little J!

Family...

It's so easy to be on theme this week: Family! Sorry but you're stuck viewing images of my wonderful little family again this week!

Snuggle time with Daddy:
Daddy Time

And I have been meaning to post this for a looong time! You asked to see this in B&W, Joshua's and his Grandma's hands:
Hands

Mommy Moment: Jeremiah flies in his sleep!
SuperSleep
Do you know how hard it is to take a pic in a pitch black room? I went into a lit room and guessed the distance from where I'd stand to Jeremiah then set my focus (love back-button focusing!) then guess at the flash intensity and fire aimlessly into the night in hopes to get this shot. The focus ended up catching his cape and not so much him but that is pretty fun too! Just so you know what I had to do to get this shot without waking him...

God bless you this week!

Scenes From The Changing Table...

Just for fun we had a quick shoot while chubby chub smiled and giggled as I changed him...

"How cute am I?"

Random shots that made me giggle:

Some outtakes (I was standing on a chair and still too short so I held it up and guessed at the aim and focus!)...
Photobucket

"Whew! These photo shoots are tiresome! Are you done yet, mommy?"
Photobucket

Mommy Moment: When I finished putting on the clean diaper, he gave me a thumbs up! lol Wish I had the camera then. Jeremiah used to clap for me. I just love it when my boys appreciate the work their mommy does!

I Believe I Can Fly...

I believe I can touch the sky...
SuperHero

Jeremiah got some new pajamas recently and we can't seem to get him to wear anything else! Daddy finally went and bought another pair so we can at least have one clean pair available (they were on clearance anyway!). Funny thing is that he really doesn't know who SuperMan is since we don't watch much TV or movies. He just knows that when he puts it on, he's a Super Hero!

Love the detachable cape!
SuperHero

Good Daddy flying him around the house...
SuperHero

Jeremiah speeding here, speeding there...
SuperHero

And he learned a new trick recently...
Rub & Pat

I saw him doing this one day and he never told me where he learned it. He usually does it much better than in this video but he started singing and then had to follow a rhythm! lol But he at least let me capture him on video...

Mommy Moments: Jeremiah seriously wants to wear these everyday. He spilled something on his pants one morning but didn't want to wear anything else so while mommy washed the shorts, he ran around the house in the shirt with cape, socks, crocs, "jungle" hat and his Diego underwear. Praise the Lord for the modern convenience of washers and dryers. And praise the Lord we didn't have anywhere to go and no one happened to stop by! I would have a pic for you but he just kept running and hiding and you couldn't see enough of his getup in any image to understand. There are more mommy momments concerning these PJ's to come...

Thanks for visiting!!!

Bed Head

Mommy really wants a pic of me holding my head up, but I'm tired so I'll prop it up with my hands. And boy am I having some wicked bed head! Maybe mommy will pat it down before she keeps shooting...
Peek-a-boo!
But really, I'm just too sleepy to pose...
Peep Eye!
Good night!

The CombOver...

Wheeeee! "Forty years from now, I probably won't be this happy about having this hair line..."
CombOver Look

Isn't it funny how different one kid can look moment to moment?
Many Faces of Joshua
"The down side to having so much hair is that sometimes your little fist gets a hold of a chunk and grabs so tight really close to your head! Oh, does it hurts a whole lot and it makes it tough for mommy to get it out while you scream. But when she does get it out, all is right with the world again."

This little guy is a BIG sleepyhead these days! Which is okay with me - he slept 8.5 hours straight last night! Whoo-Hoo!!! Now if I can just get used to it and quit checking to make sure he's still breathing since he didn't wake up for so long! lol He'd fuss a little, find his thumb to suck on and then he was back to sleep! I almost picked him up several times but didn't when I realized he was actually still sleeping while he fussed. I was surprised since he slept almost all day yesterday. I guess we're going through another growth spurt. Maybe we'll all get lots of sleep tonight!

Playing Together

This little jungle play thingie was Jeremiah's FAVORITE toy until he was just way to big to fit under it (yes, that was quite a sight!). We broke it out for Joshua to give it a whirl and I think he likes it too!

Joshua: "Are you going to help me figure this thing out?"
Brother Play

Here are some shots of Jeremiah teaching him how to get the animals to sing and dance and Joshua enjoying it.To spare you from the boredom of an overabundant load of pics that only family would love to look at, I made a couple storyboards:
Brother Play 2 Cute!
And this one for fun... don't you just love it when there is so much chub on the cheeks that the whole face falls to the side when they turn sideways? lol

Thanks for visiting!!!

Random Captures From Our Random Life

Jeremiah loves to help Papaw do whatever when we go to visit. This day he wanted to help him water the trees. Papaw wasn't too excited about the idea of Jeremiah manning the spraying end so Jeremiah got the very important job of holding up the hose:
Helping Papaw

A job he took very seriously:
Helping Papaw

And here is an image I shot of Jane when I tested the light in the room for the Diversity shot in the previous post. I just LOVE the lighting in the room! I think I found a new place to shoot! She's just too cute, I had to post this one:
Jane

And these last two crack me up! Jeremiah wanted me to find his canonball thingie he had just fired and I asked him to hold Joshua while I searched. He was more than happy to sit there with him even after I found the toy but he went nuts when I pulled out the camera! Seriously, it was a full-on kicking/screaming/teary crying fit as he begged me to put the camera down! He doesn't hold Joshua often so I really wanted to capture the moment. But instead I was fortunate to capture another moment of their brotherly bonding:
Brother Bonding

It didn't take long for Joshua to get tired of Jeremiah's fit so he started one of his own complete with waving arms, which I think made Jeremiah a bit nervous! Haha! Jeremiah tried to clam up and move away from the flailing baby as he begged Mommy to rescue him!
Brother Bonding
I'm such a mean mommy!

Americana Art Show

Our photo group is having an Americana Art show soon! How fun! I have been crazy busy with having a baby and loving on my family but scrambled to snap some images to enter at the last minute. Not sure how thrilled I am with them but thought I'd share anyway. I'd love to get some feedback from you all!
