Mmmm... Donut....

Okay, as much as I really dislike Homer Simpson, I can't help but hear his voice ringing in my ears when I type that title!
Jeremiah picked out the most colorful donut and was so excited when he finally got to taste of it. He actually never got to the donut but just licked the sprinkles off! This is another reason he doesn't get donuts very often! LOL
He was just cracking us up so I had to get my camera out and shoot this fun evening last week...

What does he think about it? I'm thinking of The Fonz here:
He was so happy to share this moment with his best buddy Jane (he adores her!):
But mommy couldn't be the only one taking pics of this event:

Too bad the memory card was full or else I'd post his shot too. But after I cleared it, he had lost interest and returned to his donut!

Shooweee... being so sick for so long has gotten me so out of practice! I haven't picked my camera up much the past few months and it shows! I need to get back into the swing of things before I digress even more!

Thanks for visiting!!!

Cast Your Votes!

So my cravings seem to change each week. After the tomato and hotdog weeks, we have since moved onto the hot sauce on everything couple weeks. (Seriously, I was planning my menu around what would go good with hot sauce!). Then I had a brief couple days of craving apple juice before I ended up where we are this week - Pico De Gallo. YUM. And lucky me, my DH loves mexican food a much as I do (and really, Jeremiah does too!) so he is more than happy to endulge me!

Here is a shot of my fave hot sauce and yummy pico de gallo: We are so lucky to have an awesome mexican restaurant in town, Real Hacienda. If you haven't been, you are missing out! Hands down the best. And their chips & salsa totally rock the others. Even little J is partial! When we go out of town and eat mexican, he turns his nose up to their food! haha! This is definitely his fave restaurant (ours too!). Here he is joining in my yummy lunch craving:

So I come home tonight to find that my DH had a bright idea of turning the air mattress into a slide for Jeremiah. With the chilling winds and freezing temps, we keep this mattress out so little J can burn some energy while stuck indoors. Here he is climbing up:

Then, of course, him on his way back down. My parents would have killed us if we did this! But being a photographer/scrapbooker has taught me to enjoy life's little moments as we only have them once! There are plenty of other things I have to say "no" to so I'll join in the pleasures of the ones that really don't matter.

Okay, the POTD theme this week is vertical and horizontal so you get to see a pic of me at 18 week (vertical of me!):
And then a horizontal of me (although the image is not horizontal!): Some say I'm not showing so I guess I just look like I ate too many hotdogs a couple months ago... ??? Sheesh. I don't usually look quite so "fluffy" around the middle! Thanks to my lovely assistant for taking these shots. I guess she was into the angle shot?

Cast your predicitions now! We find out the baby's gender bright and early Friday morning! I'll have to have a drawing from all who guessed right and send them a small prize. Let me know if it's a boy or girl wiggling around in there!

Have a blessed day!

New Addition...

Lots of things going on around here!!!

Of course the little one coming in July but also a not-so-little one coming this week! Actually, this one has been in the works for a while but the official move will be this week.

Meet Jane:

Long story shorter, she was staying with my in-laws to finish High School in the US but some health issues came up and needed a new home. We spent a lot of time praying about it and planning it all out before we finally made the decision to take Jane in. Then about a week after we started the ball rolling, we found out we were expecting! Since then we have been busy building a room in our garage and trying to get everything ready for her big move. Things took much longer than expected but it looks like this week she'll FINALLY be officially moved in! So for all of you thinking we needed a daughter, here she is. Now the baby can be whatever he/she needs to be!

(BTW: I took this pic of Jane last summer, but didn't have any recent ones of her so you get to see this one!)

Next week I'll post a poll about the baby's gender so you can vote for your prediction. We'll find out February 1st, so start thinking!

Also, the image in the last post... I did not "add" a sunset, it really was already there, I just adjusted some things (darkened, contrast, saturation) to bring out some great colors that were hidden! Thanks for all the comments!

Have a great week!

POTD - Photoshop is fun!

I'm going to try to join in the POTD again this year as much as I can. Who knows what will happen, especially with a new little one coming this summer, but I'll try!

This week's theme is Photoshop so I thought I'd show some before and after. I was playing around with a friend's lens (Bill, you're so awesome!) and was really bored on our drive to our little getaway so I tried to shoot some scenery. The shot turned out not so exciting-looking so I punched it up in PS by darkening it a bit for some drama, boosting the saturation and adding a hint of contrast. Now it's more like interesting to look at!

Here is the before image, a nice cold winter day...

And here is after, a gorgeous sunset!

Thanks for visiting!

Happy New Year!

Yeah, I'm cracking up at the title too... What a slacker I am! But I'm FINALLY starting to feel better and able to get online without getting motion sickness. So I will try to be better about keeping the blog updated.

So I haven't been shooting much either lately due to the 24-7 sickness fun I've been having but here are a few shots from the holidays of Little J enjoying time with two of his favorite people - Grandma and Papaw:

And one from this afternoon because he just looked so sweet snuggled up in his bed for a nap...

P.S. Went to the Dr today and all is well. We'll find out if we'll need pink or blue on Feb 1st so keep watch!
