Psalm 73:26

Archive for October 2009

Hmm...

Just posting some random pics that I never posted. These are so old! I am not even sure how old Joshua is in this pic but it was probably around 7 or 8 months? He struck a funny pose while sleeping...

Must be heredity since someone else has the same issue...

Or else we are just really boring around here. That's probably it.

{Mommy Moment}
Evil Kneivel strikes again. I heard a crash and Jeremiah yelled Joshua knocked over his pirate ship. He has a big Playmobile pirate ship in his room. No big deal, just brothers fighting... I came in and found a ship on the floor but it was not the one from Jeremiah's toy collection. It was the model ship that was on the very top shelf of a 6 foot bookcase! I jerked my head up to find the little stuntman perched up on top of the shelf reaching for a piggy bank. Apparently, he climbed up to the top bunk and then climbed another foot higher and crossed a 7 inch gap between the two pieces of furniture to end up there. Enough wobbling of the shelf knocked over the ship but THANK YOU GOD the shelf nor Joshua came toppling down with it. I am more serious than ever about making the kid a straight jacket. Or maybe a plastic bubble...

I {Heart} My Family...

The uber fabulous Jessica Bell took some pics of our little clan and I was so thrilled to get some printed to put up around the house.

As many pics as I take around here it was nice to be included in some of them...

And *GASP* one of hubby and I...

And now my boys can remember that I was a real person in their lives and what I looked like...

Joshua likes this one... :)

Kira & Nick: Just For Fun!

I've known Kira since she was a sweet little girl who played Barbies with my niece at my in-law's house. Kira lived next door to my sister-in-law but is now a beautiful woman attending college out of town. She Facebooked me about a session with her beau and my answer was a quick "Of course!!!" Still as sweet as she can be and she couldn't have found a greater guy than she has in Nick. Thanks for the fun time!

Quick shot of the happy couple...

I told her to "work it" and she laughed at me. He did too...

She said she wasn't a girly girl and that this was more her:

That pose was so perfectly executed I asked if they do this often and they said "YES!"

But I think she can still work it out...

Gorgeousness...

I can't help but do this shot when I see amazing eyes like these:

You two are fabulous! Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek!

Katie: Bride To Be...

I am convinced that I have the most beautiful brides.

Ever.

I mean, really?!?!? Do only the gorgeous people call me for weddings or do they magically become stunning when they book me? lol

Katie is no exception. She may be a teacher but she is no frumpled school marm. We were blessed with a gorgeously sunny day to shoot some bridal portraits and it even warmed just enough for Katie to not turn into an icicle as we shot around the yard. See? I told you God smiles on my brides. :)

First a couple details of the three main ingredients:

The dress...

The shoes...

The rings...

Special thanks to the fabulous Mercer Family for allowing us to shoot in and around their home. They are neighbors of Katie and this home was gorgeous for a bridal shoot!

Katie has a fresh beauty about her. She brightens up the room with her smile and delicate features. She says she likes a simple look. I say it's simply beautiful...

The wind loved her veil... (so did I!)

We also shot a few indoors. This home had some amazing light going on!

Rawr...

Playing with Jess's Warm Honey Action and some texture. More Rawr...

I love these little random shots. They seem to capture their personalities...

Katie, if I haven't said it enough in this post - you are stunning! I cannot wait for your wedding! I won't even mind freezing in the middle of winter for you! I hope you enjoy these and I'll get the rest of the MANY to you soon! Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of this amazing event in your life!!!

Gina & Keegan: Married!

God smiles on my brides, I just know it. Another long week of dreary, gloomy, rainy days with a sudden pop of clear skies just in time for a beautiful blushing bride.

Gina was G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. But then we expected no less, didn't we? Here are a few I snagged from the many, many, MANY shot that day. I still haven't gone through them all!

The girls workin' it out before the ceremony...

They can get a little sassy...

The guys were looking quite sharp...

But they can get a little crazy themselves...

I love sweet little moments like this...

But mostly ones like this...

Checking out the new rings...

And showing them off to the bridesmaids...

The night continues with these more in love than ever...

Gina & Keegan, you two are so fabulous! It was a gorgeous wedding and a ton of fun. You are both so amazing and in love it just melts my heart to see your lives twine easily into one. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this magical part of your lives that is just the begining of the best of times!

Wedding Day...

I love weddings! And this one will be no exception! As I've gotten to know them better this past year from a sister's wedding, an E-session and here-and-there contact, I just fell in love with them and the family more and more. This just makes this wedding that much more special for me. Gina, you are fabulously gorgeous and Keegan is a great catch! I know you two will live happily ever after and I am thankful for the joy and peace you find in your faith. I love that it is important to you and will be such a prominent part of your wedding day. It's a beautiful, sunny day - perfect for a wedding! See you this afternoon!

A couple random shots from rehearsal of the uber fab couple:

The ever talented Jessica Bell will be shooting with me today and I know we are going to have a blast!

And as I was compiling my gear, I thought it would be funny to take a pic of it all. Taken with my little Sony Cybershot that the boys have used and abused:

The Wedding Arsenal!

My Mom...

While we were taking pics, I did get to snap a few pics of my mom between the goofy ones with the boys...

She must think I'm just so hilarious (yeah right!)...

Isn't she gorgeous?!

You know it's odd that you don't think about or seem to notice your parents getting older. I still see the same beautiful lady that was there to greet us when we came home from school and it's not until I stop and look closely at these images that I realize she is not a young girl in her twenties anymore! But even so, she has aged so well and still looks very young for her age. Sorry if that made her sound old - yikes!

I was never a girly-girl. I tried but always seemed to fail miserably. I think my mom really wanted a true "girl" as she was always getting on to me to dress up and fix my hair nice. It was not my thing... probably because I was never good at it (still the same today!). But she is always so nicely put together and lovely. I think that helps keep her looking and acting so young! I just hope that even if I'm not much of a princess of a daughter, she can still be proud of me as I am proud of her.

Love you, Mom!

Mom Time...

I was looking for a certain image and ran across these I never posted. I have tons of funny snapshots I think I'll post just for fun this next week. These are the kinds of images that should be in the family albums. You know, those random pics that are not technically perfect by any stretch but are just us as we are in all our goofy-ness....

Jeremiah and Mommy in the garage...

"Awww... I wuv you!"

"Cheese!"

These were taken the day my mom left for home after visiting us this past summer. She joined in on the fun...

I love my Momma!

Then a couple quick shots of her with each boy before we headed to the airport to say good-bye...

They both miss her and we're hoping she comes again soon!

The Things I Do...

Earlier this year a friend and I went out to just find stuff to photograph. One thing she did was photograph me - YIKES! The things I do to get a certain shot...

You can look HERE and see what I was shooting!

{Mommy Moment}
Joshus is always falling or running into things... he's our little stunt man. Once he was climbing the two steps from the garage to the kitchen and I heard him fall and crash into the wall with a big thud. I expected to hear at least a wimper but instead heard him utter what sounded like "I'm ok!" It wouldn't be so funny except Joahua isn't really talking yet!

Mowing Men...

This image means a lot to me in a lot of ways. I love the connection between Jeremiah and his daddy. He loves it when Daddy comes home and Daddy loves to be greeted with a little five year-old's enthusiastic "DADDY'S HOME!!!" I also treasure this image because it reminds me of the joy God has given us in this little guy. He was behind socially and had many other "concerns" that lead to Autism evaluations and language evaluations... but through this year-long process of evaluation waiting lists and working to communicate to him in as many ways as a mother could learn of or think of, God worked His power to release something inside this little boy. In time he began to blossom and overcome some of the things that were holding him back in so many areas. He's like a whole different kid! The work of God never ceased to amaze me and I hope I never get so high and mighty that is does cease to do so.

So what does all that have to do with this image? A small victory in some eyes, but a grand victory for us - a working of my Heavenly Father. Jeremiah used to be so afraid of loud noises. He'd cover his ears and cower at things like blowdryers and vacuums that were across the house, behind several closed doors. The fear in his face chilled a mother's heart as she tried to console him. But over this past year he's changed and grown. Then this one sunny summer day he braved the wild beast and joined Daddy to mow the lawn. Being outside with the mower raging was answer to prayer but to actually touch and push the mower was truly awesome. God is so good to love my little Jeremiah so. *sigh*

Yes, another one from this past summer... I'm a horrible blogger, it's amazing anyone still comes in here for a peek!
I promise to try to do better. I really want to! Life just gets busy, doesn't it?

Gina & Keegan: Engaged!

These are from MONTHS ago! I've been so busy with so much and haven't been blogging like I should. I thought I'd better get these on here before they got married - this weekend! I'm cutting it close, aren't I? We had so much fun roaming downtown and then out to his family's farm. Love these two!

Gina & Keegan, I cannot wait for this weekend! I feel like we've known each other for years and I know I'll be shedding a few tears as you join your lives together in marriage. I know it'll be beautiful and a rockin' good time!
