New Desktop...

Saw this and had to make one too! It's basically wall paper for your monitor that you design yourself. I whipped this one up real quick because I just *HAD* to have one. It features three of my favorite little people: my boys and the greatest nephew ever. Love them!

It also includes some images that make me happy or make me think or inspire me in some way. And down in the bottom right had corner with the arrow? It says "Stuff I don't love" and points to my recycle bin. lol

I might not want to come to my office to work now, just going to stare at my wall paper... {love}

BEST CHOCOLATE CUPCAKE EVER...

Yes, I meant to type that in all caps because when I say that, I mean it!!! I wanted a good choco cupcake recipe so I did what all good bakers do... I Googled it. OK, so I'm not a good baker. But I am a good eater! :D

Just look at this awesomeness...

OK, it may not look all that great but let me tell you IT.WAS.AMAZING. SERIOUSLY.

It was way better than a really really REALLY good brownie. Really.

Here is a link to the recipe: DARK CHOCOLATE CUPCAKE RECIPE
She does a much more fab job on her cupcake decorating skills, I'm still learning. Like in preschool still learning but that is okay because it tasted AWESOME! The icing was SO smooth and light and Mmmmmmmmm..... I'm not a fan of over sugary icing. I usually scrape it off and just eat the cake part but this icing was DREAMY. Check out the recipe and heed her warning about the icing curdling!!! She'll tell you how to make it happen and even a lowscale baker like me pulled off some amazing icing! Mmmmm..... I think I need another one...

Macro Monday: Mightier Than The Sword...

Sitting at my desk last night I thought, "Oh, I should shoot something to post for Macro Monday..." I looked down and saw my pen and took some inspiration from a friend's recent post of a pen tip and gave it my own spin. Enjoy!

This House on Thursday: Gotta Go...

We were on our way out the door to Jey's Homeschool group when it flashed through my mind that I had not taken any Thursday pics of the boys in a while and I also heard my mom nagging in the back of my mind about not seeing more of them on my blog so I grabbed the camera and made them stand there in the kitchen to take a quick pic.

This is real life here, folks. Just my kids, looking like they do every day on our way out the door. Actually, I'm having visions of the American Gothic painting running through my mind right now...

(heeheehee)

Earlier this week it was SO nice and sunny and warm and wonderful... now it's FREEZING again.

Pooey.

Here's a vain attempt of getting a better shot of my boys:

Mommy with her brilliant ideas: "Hug each other! Awww..."

As you can see... FAIL.

Yup. Real life, folks.

Japan is often first to send support to UNICEF during times of crisis. It's time to give back. Proceeds from sessions booked through April will go towards aid for the children affected by the tsunami. Sessions will be reduced to $50 and prints will be 25% off. Let's reach out and help those who have so much less than we do but face so much more than we can ever imagine. Spread the word so we can spread the love!

Waiting on Ella Grace... {Owensboro, KY Maternity Photographer}

I was thrilled to hear Ashley and Tim were expecting! Such a great couple, I know they'll be wonderful parents. And how perfect for Ashley that they are having a girl! Ashley loves her pink! You may remember her from her Engagement session (HERE) and her wedding (HERE).

I would love to have some images like this from my pregnancies but was too embarrassed to show my belly. I really do regret it now!

Here are a few shots from her recent Maternity session...

Ashley, you are gorgeous. Stunning Mommy...

Hee hee, this one is for Daddy Tim...

Ella Grace, we can't wait to meet you soon!

*love*

Macro Monday: Spring is Here!

Yes, I know I've been neglecting my blog. It's been a bit busy around here with school, sickos and WARM WEATHER! Hard to stay inside lately!

I did get my camera out today with the intent to blog here on a Macro Monday. Just random stuff around the yard while the fam enjoyed the beautiful Spring weather!

Have a blessed week!

Fun Food?

Well, at least I didn't say "exciting food", right? I know, it was a poor last minute attempt to make lunch somewhat interesting. Next time I'll try to plan it out before I go to the store so maybe it won't all be pretty much the same color family. Oh, well! By the way, the shredded cheese is supposed to be a sun. Just in case you didn't catch that. lol Joshua inhaled his plate and Jeremiah just stared at it and wished for a hot dog. He sat there long enough that he eventually put on a pirate show with it all and ended up eating it. Not surprised.

Macro Monday: Fruit & Bubbles...

Pull Back Shot...

This is what I have to deal with, folks. Stinker.

Then he pulled it off and dumped it into the water while I was cutting him some slices...

Then he dumped those in too so I took a picture...

Then tried something else...

Have a great week!

Super Simple Apple Crumb Cobbler...

This is a Pampered Chef recipe that I've had forever. For years I could not find the Jiffy Yellow Cake mix boxes and no other box mix worked right. I was THRILLED to find them again. YAY!

Super easy... peel, core, slice about 4-5 apples, put in baking dish (I use a pie plate). We love Granny Smiths for baking...

(I sometimes slice them really thin so they cook faster and I get to eat them sooner!)

Jiffy Yellow Cake Mix
2 tbs sugar
1 tbsn cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl until crumbly then sprinkle on sliced apples...

Bake 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes...

Mmmmm...

Try to wait until it's cooled a little. Or not...

Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Nom Nom Nom...

This House on Thursday: How the shoots go...

"Mommy, take a picture of my Lego man!"

It's his way of saying "No more pictures of me, please?!" So I obliged. Then the stinker ran off claiming he had other legos he wanted me to take pics of. So I was left to try to turn this into something creative instead of counting it a FAIL.

Backlit Biker...

A little fill lighting...

A little dramatic side lighting...

Jeremiah didn't come back but someone else came in to play. He brought a few friends...

Wide angle view...

Of course he had to feed his friends...

Then he left me too. At least he left me this...

So I took it closer to the window for some natural lighting...

And that, my friends, is how a typical Fowler kid shoot ends up. I spend some time planning out the images I'd like to capture only to end up with pics where my kids are scarce or uncooperative. Kids... Pffft!

However, I did get one shot I think I'll use for a challenge "The view from here"...

Bunch of Sickos...

I was doing so good to keep up with blogging pretty much everyday. Then I went missing yesterday. It's because my counter looks like this:

Many things for each of us.

Jeremiah has a nasty cough and an equally nasty ear infection. Joshua has the same nasty cough and, thankfully, that seems to be all. I, too, have the cough but also some bad head congestion giving me a horrendous headache feelings of my head exploding... oh and some respiratory something or other. John was trying preventative stuff but still got a little of the cold part. Jey and I are an antibiotics, we're all taking cough stuff. I'm also taking flu stuff. On top of it all, John woke up to a kidney stone. His new meds should be on our counter soon. Fun times at the Fowlers.
