Katie is also quick to remind me that it's been a while since I've taken her out for pictures. So with one-month old Joshua in tow, we ride around for a quick shoot in search of fun new places for backdrops. It was an adventure since we stopped for only a few minutes at each place. I didn't have the sling at this time and didn't really want to get Joshua in and out at each place (mosquitos!) so I'd park as close to the location I could and stand no more than three feet away from my running van while I zoomed in to get Katie here and there. All the while, Joshua screamed until I fed him then was content for another ten minutes (he hates to be in the car!). It was quite interesting...
Here is one that was taken near the by-pass (it's on top of the hill behind her) and next to a little strip of stores. But let's pretend she's in some field out in the middle of nowhere, shall we? I had to zoom all the way and yell instructions to her. She didn't hear any of them but Joshua didn't like all the yelling. We were here maybe five minutes? lol
This wall was pretty cool but didn't look right when I backed up to take it all in. I'll need to work on that... It's some chinese writing on the wall of a Karate Studio. I liked the bold colors but the writing was so huge!
Here we are at the purple wall. I loved the crazy colors!
Katie gets the giggles...
Love the wall! But don't let this face fool you...
Most of the time it's like this:
Pretty close-up. Notice the soft colors behind her...
It was actually this. And it stunk. lol I had to hide the bag behind her head in the shot. The ditch in front of the purple wall:
So where is this great purple wall? Well, at Crazy Larry's, of course!
We had fun on that crazy little adventure. It was fun to get out and shoot something other than a newborn and an unwilling 4 year old! Thanks Katie! Here are your pics - finally!!! Love you!
Mommy Moment: (This is an oldie but a goodie) Katie considers herself family so she gets in on these too! John was giving away a door prize and there were 48 names on the list. He asked Katie to give him a number between 1 and 48 and she thought long and hard then finally shouted with glee, "51!" It took her a minute to realize why everyone was laughing. See? Everyone needs a Katie!
I couldn't agree more- everyone DOES need a Katie (and a Jane too, of course!). Devin misses them both SO MUCH. I want to get back down there on a Tues for class, but it's so darned late for us by the time we get home (around 10:45) and I'm not being a very responsible mom when I keep them out that late on a school night... sigh...
ReplyDeleteAnyway. AWESOME photos of miss K!I absolutely LOVE the "field" one. :) I can almost picture you running back & forth between the van and snapping pics- you are insane! LOL
So fun that you have a great babysitter that is part of the family!! Love the purple wall shots!! She is one beautiful lady!!
ReplyDeleteThese are phenomenal! Love all the DOF you've got going on. She is just beautiful and sounds a lot like my older dd.
ReplyDeleteThese are such fun shots! Love the different locations, and the way you bokeh'd (not a word, but should be!) that crummy ditch into a wonderful background. K is so expressive; what a great helper you have!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some awesome locations!! I wish I had a Katie! You are sure determined to do all of that with your sweet baby along for the ride!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have really captured her personality and it seems awesome! She is so pretty, I love the peekaboo hair in such an awesome color.
ReplyDeleteThese are such fun shots, she seems like it's fun to be around her! These shots really show a lot of personality! Amy :)
ReplyDeletePoor, pretty girl. She even messed up with her hair color with those pink strands. ;)
ReplyDeleteWaving hand, jumping up and down - I have a Katie! My very own Katie! We just call her Nina and I always tell her it's OK to be a little ditzy as long as she keeps her attitude right and laughs along with the rest of us. She's always good for a laugh.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. So creative and so fun. You did a super job!
Hudson hates the carseat too...makes it AWFUL to try to go anywhere, because I know he'll just scream himself to sleep! :(
ReplyDeleteThese are all really beautiful. Such fun locations and poses, and I LOVE that Crazy Larry wall. What fun colors! :c)
I'm thinking that we need a Katie in our lives. She looks/sounds like so much fun!
