Good News, Bad News, and some other stuff...
I'm so behind with blogging images of our lives. I'm hoping to catch up with the boys pics before they graduate high school... YIKES.
Good News! I got a new haircut a couple weeks ago. Complete with some red highlights. If you know me, I never do the highlight thing, hair styling is so unimportant to me I'd never keep up with getting them touched up! A friend (thanks Ginger!) gave me the new do and I tried to take a pic of it. But since I'm doing the MySpace hold-the-camera-out-at-arms-length picture thing, I ended up looking like a bobble head. Can you say HUGE forehead? Someone tell me it's not that bad in real life. Please?! Oh and look how flat my hair is - it's actually full of body in this pic! haha!
Actually, it's a little longer. There are some layers that must be behind my back in this pic. I think I like it shorter looking and may have to call her to come and chop those longer layers off... what do you think?
And some Bad News... I got an e-mail a couple weeks ago:
Dangerous Chocolate Cake!!!
This is so dangerous because within 5 minutes you will be endulging in every girl's favorite - chocolate!
Chocolate Mug Cake
1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons cake flour (Or sift 1 cup all-purpose flour and 2 tbsn cornstarch to make cake flour, then use only 4 tbsn of it!)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla
Have some whipped cream or vanilla ice cream handy!
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (This can serve 2 if you want to share!)
Seriously, it's WAY too easy! Check out my latest fave snack:
Cut in half with some whipped cream on top:
Bad, I tell ya... just bad!
On a lighter note - some long, sleepy baby lashes:
So not fair for my little boys to have such thick, gorgeous lashes when there are little girls dreaming about them all over the world! Just think, you'd never need mascara!
Mommy Moment: Ever have one of those days? I set Joshua down in front of a toy that has some animals that dance and sing when you hit them. Being a good mommy, I sang the words along with the music as I folded the clothes to relieve the guilt of not interacting with him every single waking moment of his day (lol). "All around the carpenter's bench, the monkey chased the weasle..." I thought I could be supermom and gather all the neatly folded towels in my arms and make just one trip to put them away instead of two. So here I am singing along, "...and Pop! Goes the Weasle!" Yup, there went the towels. Guess what I got to do again? *sigh*
