Water
No matter where it flows, water is always smooth and also polishes the surfaces it travels. Even rough places are made smooth when washed with water over time. Water can be powerful but gentle. Annoying and disruptive on a rainy picnic day or refreshing and satisfying in a cool glass on a hot summer afternoon. I chose this picture for "water" because it shows off it's gentleness even on a rough background.
